Andy Murray Wins At Queens Club. A Real Contender for Wimbledon?

submit to reddit

Scottish tennis player and World #4 Andy Murray held his ground well as he managed to withstand an athletic onslaught from Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – winning the final of the AEGON Championships at London’s Queen’s club 3-6 7-6(2) 6-4.

Tsonga’s strategy of all out attack was working well until he hit the net during game 11 of the second set – preventing him from breaking to serve for the match. Murray held and managed to win the tiebreak with ease 7-2. The game was peppered with “ooh-aaah” moments, as both players pushed themselves to their physical limits; both managing to take some shots between their legs – much to the joy of the crowd.

All eyes in the UK Will be on Murray at the 2011 Wimbledon Championships this year. Murray is sure to take a few days break before Wimbledon, and is bound to come to the tournament focused and confident. We think he may make the Final – what do you think?
