Wimbledon Each Way Betting

submit to reddit

If you are thinking about placing a bet or two as this year’s Wimbledon tennis championships get underway, it may be useful to know more about what types of bets you can place.

One popular bet that some individuals favour is called each way betting. This is actually composed of more than one bet; a win bet and a place bet. This kind of bet does give you better odds of winning because you are in effect paying for more than one chance to win.

Generally speaking the each way bet in tennis only applies when wagering money on the eventual outcome of one particular tournament. Since the each way bet provides a win if your chosen player comes first or second, you cannot place this bet on the outcome of a single match – because there are only two players.

Instead you would decide which player you wanted to bet on to win Wimbledon. Let’s say you wagered £10 on that player. Since an each way bet is effectively two bets, this would cost you a total of £20. If that player wins you obviously win as you normally would. But if they get to the final and lose, you would still win – albeit a smaller amount of money.

As you can see, each way betting does give you a better chance of winning when you bet on who will win the Wimbledon final. That having been said you need to be happy that you are wagering more money to buy that second chance.
